Sgt Howie is first seen in his seaplane near the edge of the Rhu in Plockton before landing at the Harbour Master's house [1] and quizzing the locals about Rowan. Co-incidentally this is near where the police station was located almost 20 years later in the BBC television series Hamish Macbeth. Later he is seen walking along both ends of the causeway [2] which runs from the Rhu to Harbour Street. There are shots of Main Street [3] looking towards the car park end of the road and of the distinctive black fronted building of the Plockton Hotel [4] and it's water front beer garden. This is a marvellous place to spend a sunny hour or three over a pint and a meal taking in the views over Loch Carron and the nearby hills (midges permitting!). I've been told that Edward Woodward and the crew were known to have a 'drink' in the bar of the Plockton Hotel during the period that filming took place in Plockton |
