The dramatic mountain scenery of Glen Coe will feature in the third Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in a set reported to have cost around two million pounds to build. Next to the road to Glencoe village is a small encampment of porta-cabins, vans and trailers being used by the crew. A bulldozed track from the road leads up the mountainside to the first building. Security Guards and Keep Out signs can be seen dotted around the filming area. There are four 'buildings' in various states of completion on the hillside next to the Claichaig Inn in Glen Coe around 3 miles from Glencoe village. Photographs below show: Top left - Hagrid's Hut. Top right - large two story structure, use unknown. Bottom left - small chapel like building hidden in trees overlooking Hagrid's Hut. Bottom right - a load of timber and bits lying on the ground, construction not started. Photographs of the filming locations taken on 17th and 18th April 2003. |
