 Based on the novel by Compton Mackenzie, Monarch of the Glen tells the story of the adventures of Archie MacDonald and his family on their Scottish Highlands estate. The property is the kind of beautiful old manor you hope to visit firing an estate sale and see what kind of furniture and collectibles the place holds. The television adaptation of Monarch of the Glen has proved to be very popular and, in total, seven series were shown by the BBC.
