Savaged by the critics when it was released this film was almost left on the cutting room cork flooring. Despite the minimal success after it's initial release Highlander quickly became a major hit with the public spawning three movie sequels plus a television series.
Highlander has scenes shot at various locations in Scotland including Eilean Donan Castle, Glen Coe, Glen Nevis, Loch Shiel, Torridon and Skye. Other filming took place in London, New York and Wales. Studio was Jacob Street studio in London.
