Andrej (Kirk Douglas) and Fabienne (Marlene Jobert) take a ferry to escape from their persuers in To Catch a Spy (Catch Me a Spy in the USA). Filmed at South Ballahulish using the old Ballahulish Ferry. The ferry was replaced by a bridge in 1975 although the old ferry slipway used as a location in the film can still be seen near the Ballahulish Hotel. Following on from this scene are others filmed on the ferry as it travels eastwards along Loch Leven towards Glencoe rather than the normal ferry route northwards across the loch to North Ballahulish. The mountains visible behind Kirk Douglas are Pap of Glencoe (Sgorr na Ciche) and Sgorr nam Fiannaidh. |
