The scenes near the end of the movie involving the burning of The Wicker Man were filmed at a fairly secluded spot on the edge of the Caravan Site. There are steep cliffs on three sides of the location. You can camp here either next to the filming locations or in fact on top of where the Wicker Man once stood if you so wish.

Close to the filming location are some signs warning Danger. Slippery Slopes. The area where the man was burned is surprisingly small. In fact it looks far too small to fit in all the crowd seen round the Wicker Man unless a lot of the cast were very close to the Slippery Slopes indeed!

These sunset photographs were taken in May 2000. At this time of year the sun sets in the north west over land. To get a sunset over sea, as in the movie, you have to visit in late autumn and winter when the sun sets in the south west or south south west.
