Skyfall (2012) had a production budget of $200 million and was the first James Bond film to gross over 1 billion dollars in worldwide box office.
You don't have to have a masters degree in accounting online to realize that Skyfall was a highly profitable film for Sony Pictures.
In comparison, the 2015 Bond film, Spectre, had a production budget of $300 million and only grossed $879 million worldwide.
The executives and accounting pros at Sony will probably have to consider a lower production budget for the next Bond film.
