Monty Python's The Meaning of Life has the Campsie Fells near Strathblane north of Glasgow standing in for the South African province of Natal during the first Zulu Wars in 1879. In the Director's commentary on the Special Edition DVD of the movie director Terry Jones recalls on one day that the extras playing the Zulu's refused to wear their costumes as the weather was so cold and filming was abandoned. |
