Part of the mostly real rather than CGI stunts at the beginning of The Dark Knight Rises were filmed over Loch Glass near the Cromarty Firth in the north east of Scotland. Just visible in the still above on the land below the nose of the Hercules airplane is a 45 degree angled light line. This is the landward end of the Technip Spoolbase near Evanton. On a larger screen you can see the continuation of the jetty which sticks out into the firth. It was from this that I initially identified the filming location.

Near the end of this scene the camera shows more of the landscape below the Hercules airplane. Visible below the sircraft at the bottom of the movie still is the south eastern end of Loch Glass. The Cromarty Firth is seen in the middle of the still, while under the clouds on the left the access roads of the Novar windfarm on Meall An Tuirc are highly visible.
