On his journey to Storm Island Faber (Donald Sutherland) abandons his stolen motor bike at the north end of Connel Bridge which is north of Oban. Since the movie was made the road layout has been changed and small trees now line the bank of Loch Etive.

From the bridge there are good views over the Falls of Lora and along Loch Etive to Ben Cruachan.
