 There is a whirlpool at Corryvreckan but it doesn't look quite so water down a plughole as the version seen in the movie. The actual filming of the Corryvreckan scenes for the movie is reputed to have taken place between the islands of Scarba and Lunga as the Corryvreckan itself was deemed far too risky to film in. |

| The Corryvreckan Whirlpool is one of the largest permanent whirlpools on Earth and the most dangerous stretch of water around the British Isles. It is situated between the islands of Jura and Scarba and can be seen from boats trips to the area run by Gemini Cruises who have kindly provided the photo of the whirlpool below. |
