Two places in Kippen near Stirling were used as filming locations in Complicity. Station Road, the B822 from Kippen to Thornhill, was where Cameron (Johnny Lee Miller) stops to receive a telephone call in a red phone box in the "small village of Strathspell in Stirlingshire" where he spent the first 18 years of his life. As is often the case the red phone box does not exist and was a prop for the movie. I once thought that it would have been a lucrative opportunity to have owned the fake red phone box that is used in so many films. However technology in the shape of mobile phones has ruined that money spinning activity! Just around the corner from here, heading towards Thornhill, is Glentirran House which was used as the location for Andy and Claire's house which Cameron spent time at in his youth. Thanks to David Nisbet for identifying this location. |
