When I started the first incarnation of this site, Hamish Macbeth filming locations, in 1996 there were no books available on movie locations. Now there seems to be a veritable glut on the subject! | ||

Scotland the Movie (1997) by David Bruce Includes most Scottish movies up to it's publication date. A good reference to Scottish cinema but not too detailed as to filming locations. |
The Scottish Movie Pocketbook (2003) by Brian Pendreigh Small but packed book. Information on stars and movies with some location stuff recycled in part from the author's previous On Location. Includes some high level location maps but not a 'field guide' to the subject. |
