| |  From the car park in Plockton turn left and head back up the road out of the village passing on your left Plockton Primary School (Esme's school)and further up the hill on the right Plockton High School which appears in various guises in the series. |
| | Go over the bridge and take the road to Durinish. On reaching Durinish turn right after the bridge. Go past Drumbuie and continue along the road to Kyle of Lochalsh. |
| | Just before Erbusaig is a road sign posted to Balmarcara. It is down this road that the Lochdubh shinty team's bus is seen going to their epic match with Dunbracken in "More than a Game" while some of the Dunbracken locals look on from the ridge like Indians in an old Hollywood western. The filming spot is close by the left side of the Plockton/Kyle road a hundred yards or so before the junction of the two roads. |
| | Continue along the road to Kyle and shortly before Kyle is reached the Skye bridge can be seen on the right of the road. Hamish Macbeth's Land Rover is seen going past this view several times in "The trouble with Rory". Shortly after this there is a large car park on the right hand side of the road. It is on the opposite side of the road here that another shot of the Land Rover with the sea behind it is seen in the same episode. |
