Frithard Hill

Although not appearing in Hamish Macbeth the views from this hill at the back of Plockton are excellent and look across to many of the locations used in the series.

Directions
From the car park in Plockton turn left and head back up the hill on the right hand side of the road for around 75 yards.
Between the Haven and Creag nan Darach hotels there is an entrance way leading to a track. Take this and bear round to the right. Continue along the Brae which was used as a location in the series until you reach the end.
At the end of the Brae turn left and go along Frithard Street for a couple of hundred yards until the road ends at the base of a small hill.
Climb the hill to it's high point and you will be rewarded with views of Skye, the Crowlin Islands (Lochdubh Island in "In search of the rose"), the Applecross hills (which appear at the beginning of "Wee Jock's Lament"), Duncraig Castle (unit base for the series) and the hills above it (locations used in several episodes).
